The headline says it all. The new paid to program called Fummo is absolutely ridiculous and I'm writing about it just so you don't accidentally fall for it. To give you the full picture, I'll just quote Fummo's admin (I apologize for the bad English):

You see a not so good looking web site and ONLY one Google AdSense ad. Now, After I do some math (400,000 members x $5 per referral), I wonder how will the magnificent Fummo pay $2 million dollars to their members from just one AdSense ad. They won't!
What else is there to say about Fummo, it's a 110% proven scam. Now all I can do is give you a link to Fummo so you can take a look at it and laugh your guts out. Enjoy!

I think the main way Fummo intends to make money is through people using their search engine. The results will most likely be from RevenuePilot/SearchFeed etc (ie - every search result earns them money) as well as Adsense on the side.
That said, I'm sure you are right about them being a scam.
It's amazing how frequently things like this pop up. The majority of these site owners figure that one of three things can happen when introducing something like this:
1. Generate enough sign-ups and traffic to sell the concept/site/user base for a tidy sum.
2. Make enough money from on-site advertising to be able to actually develop their concept.
3. String their potential membership along long enough to make a tidy sum from their on-site advertisements.
Obviously, based on the way they have advertised, options 2 and 3 aren't likely.

I have put the fummo banner from last week on my page. Fummo said that they will open this program on may 2007, but I havent got further positive information about this program. It,s a SCAM! I've just remove their promotion banner.Thanks for your opinion guys.
FUMMO is totally a scam. The site now is nowhere to be found. Webhosting account is suspended so it means the admin is that poor enough to give away $5 per referral.

I was one of the idiots who fell for this unfortunately, signing up hundreds of referrals...
but suddenly, about 3 weeks before their launch/first payout date, FUMMO changed their payout policy: they will only pay for each referral who "completes an offer" on the site. But since there aren't any offers available on FUMMO, they will be paying out to nobody.
Well my site www.fakefummo.co.nr seems to have officially closed fummo.com after only 3 days later of my opening of my site. Yay

actually..they are LATVIA BASED... and deny whatever they want..seems the FBI got their hands on the database of FUMMO after Stanford U filed a complaint against them....
might as well...and their google adsense was terminated too..for tos violation.
